Why do people call God as our Father?

Why do people call God as our Father? 

When people go to church, they call God as our Father.

That is because Jesus Christ taught us to call God as our Father in heaven.

Mt 6:9 This, then is how you should pray: "Our Father in heaven...."

Then, why did Jesus teach us to call God as our Father?

The answer is very simple. 

The reason why we are calling God as our Father is we are God's children.

2Co 6:18 "I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

God is our Father and we are God's children. 

We use the title of father and children, when we talk about family. 

Simply we can understand this following fact.

Just as we have physical family on this earth we also have our spiritual family in heaven!

That is why we call God as our Father! 

But, don't you miss someone who takes very important role in the family?

If there are children, there must be their mother who gave birth as well as their father. 

The word father implies the words children and mother!

In other words, if there is God the Father, there must be God the Mother

That is why the bible clearly testifies about the existence of God the Mother.

Gal 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

Even though there are many people who believe in God, they do not know our God, Savior correctly. 

However, knowing our God, the savior is very important matter for our salvation.

There are so many prophecies and testimonies about God the Mother.

Why did God say 'Let us make man' in the book of Genesis?

There are mysteries in the Bible. 

Why did God refer himself as 'us' and 'our' in the book of Genesis?

When God created mankind on the sixth day of his creation works, 

God said "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...."(Ge 1:26)

Most of us have thought that God is only one. 

If God the creator is God the Father alone, he should have used the terms, 'me' and 'my'. However, God used the terms 'us' and 'our'  which are used for plural. So it has been such mysterious words in the Bible.

When you read following verse, you will surely understand easily.

    

God used the word 'us' and 'our' because God is not one, but more than one.

Human being were created according to the image of God. As a result, male and female appeared. This means that God also exists as the male image of God and the female image of God. 

That is why God said "Let us make man...." in the Book of Genesis 1:26

We have been calling God as God the Father. The word Father are used for the male figure. Then if there is female figure of God, what should we call her? We should call as God the Mother. 

From the first book of the Bible, the Bible clearly testify the existence of the God the Mother. 

The Bible proves us that the creator God is not only God the Father but also God the Mother. 

That is why World Mission Society Church of God believes in not only God the Father but also God the Mother. There are more evidences to prove the existence of the God the Mother. Please have keen interest in learning God the Mother.

 

Passover, the way to escape from the disaster

Have you heard about the Passover of the new covenant?

Many people might be familiar with the Passover as Jewish custom. 

But did you know that there is the Passover of the new covenant, which established by Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago?

Ex 12:1-14 ...Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the door frames of the houses where they eat the lambs....it is the Lord's Passover. On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both men and animals, and I will bring judgement on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood I will pass over you No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

In the Old Testament, God commanded them to keep the Passover by slaughtering lamb. It was God's plan to protect God's people, Israelite from the plague. Passover contains promise of God. By celebrating the Passover, they could escape from the last plague which took place in Egypt. At the same time, they were able to get freedom from the slave. 

Then, 

what about these days?

Do we have to keep the Passover by slaughtering animals?

Mt 27:17-28 ... I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house... While they were eating Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it the his disciples, saying "Take and eat, this is my body." Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is pour out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 

2,000 years ago, our God came down himself in the name of Jesus and became a sacrificial Passover lamb and shed precious blood on the cross to establish the Passover of the new covenant.

In the new testament, Jesus set an example to celebrate the Passover by eating bread and wine, which represent our God's flesh and blood. Then as Christians who believe and follow Christ, don't we have to keep the Passover with bread and wine in this age too?

Even though the way of keeping Passover had been changed by God, the promise of God still affects. 

Nowadays there are so many unheard of disasters are occurring all over the world. We cannot escape from those disasters. But there is way, that is keeping the Passover of the new covenant and receive the promise of God.

4th Commandment : Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy

I'm pretty sure that all the Christians are familiar with Ten Commandments.

However, why don't many of them keep the 4th commandment which is keeping Sabbath day holy? 

Christians and even unbelievers know Sunday as God worship day and they keep it as God's worship day. 

But did you know that we cannot find our the word 'Sunday worship' in the Bible? 

Then where does 'Sunday worship' came from?

If we go back to time of Constatine, Roman emperor, there was abolition of Sabbath day in A.D 321 at the council of Nicea. 

More specifically, when Israel was conquered by Rome, there was a religion which was welcomed by people. That was Mithraism, which worshiped the sun-god Mithra. Mithraism was the most influential religion in that empire. Roman Emperor Constantine decreed Sunday to be a legal holiday and persecuted and forced Christianity to worship God on Sunday which is the day of the sun. 

But do we have to follow rules of men and worship to other gods 

or follow our God?

We must figure out and understand why did our God came down in the flesh?

Jn 13:15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath day and showed us as an example.

Lk 4:16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as his custom.

No matter what happens, we must follow God's example. 

If you study the history of Christianity and the Bible, it is so easy to understand and distinguish what is God's will and what are rules taught by men.
